Ngarigo Culture in Contemporary Australia
Ngarigo Nation aims to bring a full revival of Ngarigo values, practices and culture into the contemporary world. Because of the traumatic past since colonisation, this necessarily needs to address healing, the reinvigoration of cultural activities and custom, the restitution of language, the creating of opportunities for our young people to be able to provide for their family and community and the stablisation of our tribe as the primary custodians of our country.
We have designed a Tribal Revival Framework to do this over time.
This requires the development of a wide range of programs and a wide range of people to be involved. The timeframe is 25 years for two reasons, the amount of work entailed in the revival and the importance of having the next generation being involved and taking ownership in the future.
